About

Mission:
Jørgen Faksvåg, Cecilie Rydberg, Tom Magne Jonassen, Lars Oven Pettersen and Kari Schibevaag will be crossing Svalbard from South to North April 2017 with a kite.

Jørgen Faksvåg  from Tromsø. He normally is Bob the builder, but now he is ready for Svalbard. He has been kitng for 10 years around the world. Love to experience new things and now he is soon ready for Svalbard with Green Wind.

Lars Oven Pettersen from Vesterålen is normally rescuing people at daytime. Has been crossing Greenland (first one crossing the longest stretch) and many other places. He is an expedition guy and are now ready to cross Svalbard with Green Wind.

Kari Schibevaag from Stavanger is a kiter and has been that for the last 14 years. She is 7 times world champion and 12 times world snow kite master. She is now ready for something new and are ready to cross Svalbard with Green Wind.

Cecilie Rydberg from Arendal is working as an engineer. She has been crossing Greenland (first crossing the longest stretch) and are now ready for more action at Svalbard with Green Wind.

Tom Magne Jonassen from Fauske. He is specialized in sportsmedic and normally helps athletes improve better at Eureka Kiropraktikk Trondheim. He has been kiting 9 years and are ready for new adventures. Soon you will see him in action crossing Svalbard.

Focus:
Exploring the arctic nature, glaciers cracks and climbing mountains exclusively with the force of the wind.

 

We also want to make attention on the climate changes melting the arctic ice.
